The Great Highland Bagpipe Band Webring!

The Great Highland Bagpipe Band Webring! is set up as a tool and resource to the members, and others, on networking into one Ring. This concept makes
it easier for the different users on the net to find information pertaining to the same subject area, interest or location. In this case, Bagpipe Bands.
Once a person finds his way on to one Ringmembers website,
they have access to all the websites on the ring without going back to any of the search engines available on the net.
The use of The Great Highland Bagpipe Band Webring! can be a valued resource. The rings use is not closed to non members of Bagpipe Bands, only the actual setup of who is on the ring.
As the number of Ring Sites come on line the more resources
are made available to all net users. If you wish more information about Web Rings Click Here to read more about Webrings.
Web Ring Rules !
1. Must be a "Bagpipe Band" Site, can be a "Street Band" or a Grade-Pro Band, it can also be an Association as long it is a Bagpipe Band Association. All Pipe Bands are welcome to join who play the "Great Highland Bagpipes". Drums and Pipes Bands Are Welcome as well. NO COMMERICAL SITES ALLOWED! except where a band sells a CD, tape or other fund raiser enterprise to benifit the band as a whole. This will be a case by case basis.
2. Sites must use True URL, not a re-direct and the URL must be the page where the Webring Icons reside. If you host more than one Band on your site, you can apply for more than 1 listing, as long you have a seperate directory per band, and long url's do not matter.
3. Sites must be approved by the Ringmaster including the "HTML Source Code" before being added to the ring. This is a automatic process by the Ringmaster.
4. Sites can be removed from the ring by the Ringmaster. Members of the Webring! may remove themselves, if they need to. If a site has been taken down, please remove yourself from the ring. As this Ring grows I may not be able to check every site to see if it is still active.
5. Only the Icons or TEXT Version shown below should be used for the web ring and the HTML fragment and the "GIF" files are stored on the Server so you will not need to worry about the icons. If you cut and paste from this page the HTML fragment, please remember to change the id=1 to id=Your ID.
6. The page that the Ring is on can be "FRAMED", if the Target="_top" is used (JAVA or No-JAVA). I will help you if need on Target commands or try here! or try this Link for more help.
The HTML Fragment will be e-mailed to you, usually within 1 hour or less. Most times it is in your mailbox by the time you finish filling out the forms on Web Ring!
If you want the buttons stored on your local server, you can download this file from here and re-edit the text file found in this zip file with all the icons.
If you are having some problems with getting the "HTML" Script to work, I may be able to help. You can contact me at fswerren@bagpipes.net and I can, as time permits, e-mail you a completed page (Your Bands Home Page!) with the icons of your choice.
If you use Front Page with the extentions, you may have problems. You should know some HTML coding and how to copy/cut and paste from notepad and your e-mail program. If you use a counter from some of the national sources, it is done the same way. Remember I can Help if needed and I will keep this page updated with hints and other info as time goes on. You can also find help here, on a HTML Help Page I maintain with many useful links.
The Ringmaster, is a 25+ year member of the Pipes and Drums of the Erepa Grotto
in Erie Pa and has been an active "Piper" since 1972.
Because of changes done at the Orginal webring and with all the problems associated with it, I have made a decision to move the ring to Ringworld. Ringworld has made it ring sites more in line with the way Webring use to be run. Yahoo has made the rings very hard to manage so this move was done after looking over Ringworld and how it is setup. I will run both rings until all have transfer over to Ringworld then delete the old ring.
This upgrade may be a little rough around the edges, but bear with me!!!
