ARE:

The New York State Federation of
Lake Associations (FOLA) is a statewide, volunteer-based
organization. It is the umbrella group of local lake associations
and anyone interested in issues related to New York's lakes,
reservoirs, ponds, streams, rivers and related surface water
resources. The Federation membership includes lake associations,
lake property owners, environmental organizations, individuals,
state and local government agencies. More than 200 lake
associations throughout New York State are actively involved in
FOLA and our membership is growing annually.

The FOLA Web Ring is set up as a tool to the members, and
others, on networking into one Ring. This concept makes
it easier for the different users on the net to find information pertaining to the same subject. In this case lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and other watershead projects.

Once a person finds his way on to one Ringmembers website,
they have access to all the websites on the ring without going back
to any of the search engines available on the net.

The use of the FOLA ring can be a valued resource when doing research on Enviromental subjects. The rings use is not closed to non-FOLA members, only the actual setup of who is on the ring.

As the number of Ring Sites come on line the more resources
are made available to all net users. If you wish more information about Webrings Click Here to read more about Webrings.

FOLA's main office is located in
Findley Lake, NY.
The Main Web Site may be reached at www.nysfola.org

The Web Ring Rules

1 - You must be a member of FOLA and in good standing
The Ring Master will check with the FOLA Office, and this is done automactally.
You can also be a member of The North American Lake Management Society, or state association.
or with a State or National Department of Environmental Conservation, including Canada

2 - Only lake associations and anyone interested
in issues related to lakes, reservoirs, ponds,
streams, rivers and related surface water resources
can be a FOLA Web Ring Member

3 - Sites can only be approved by a FOLA Officer
or a designate from one of the other associations.
This is usually an automactic process by the Ring Master and designate.

4 - Site HTML code must be approved by the FOLA Ring Master
This also is an automactic process by the Ring Master.
Web Masters may Change around the HTML Code to fit their needs
as long as the Blue Heron and State Map (FOLA) Icon is used on the page
and the Web Ring is not locked in a frame. You can use other Icons for
the Skip, Random, Next 1, Next 5, etc....Try New Some Ideas, it's your site.

5 - Only the site owner or a FOLA Officer or designate can remove a site from the Web Ring

If you are having some problems with getting the HTML Code to work, I may
be able to help. You can contact me at fswerren@bagpipes.net
